Access to a GP, registrar or nurse at the practice is seen as a priority for patients and we have different systems in place to ensure that patients can be seen when they need to, whether it is an emergency or whether it be for a routine matter. You can also obtain advice over the telephone if that is all that is required.
Booked Appointments 7.00am – 7.50am
A GP provides these appointments every weekday morning for patients who need an early consultation before going to work. They are bookable up to a week in advance.
Booked Appointments 8.00 - 11.00am
We offer a limited number of booked appointments each morning between 8.00 - 11.00am. These appointments can be booked in advance.
The availability of these appointments is dependent on the number of GPs on duty.
Other Booked Appointments
All other appointments can be booked up to 8 weeks in advance by either ringing the practice (option 3), attending in person or a limited number can be booked online through emis.
To use the online facility you must be registered to use the service.
Please enquire at reception on how to do this.
If you have a booked appointment and we have a mobile telephone number for you, we will send you a text reminder 24 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure we have your up-to-date mobile number and do let us know if your number changes.
Minor Illness Clinic (Monday and Tuesday)
This is a nurse-led clinic supported by GPs which runs Monday and Tuesday from 8.00am – 11:30am. No appointment is necessary but you must book in at the practice in person, between 8.00 - 10.00am or by calling 01737 558 288 (option 3) on the day, between 8.30 - 9.30am.
Open Surgery (Monday - Friday)
This clinic runs every morning for those patients who need to be seen by a GP on the day and should only be used for urgent matters. Please book a deferred (future date) appointment if you need to see a GP for a routine matter. There are a number of options to access the clinic:
Book-in in person at the reception desk between 8.00-10.00am. The doors open at 7.00am but reception does not open until 8.00am. If you arrive prior to 8.00am please take a number and wait until your number is called. When you are booked in, the receptionist will give you an estimated time when you will be seen.
Phone the surgery on 01737 558 288 between 8.30 and 9.30am and select option 3.
You will be given a slot in the open surgery and be given an estimated time to attend the practice. When you arrive, please use the self check-in screen to let us know you have arrived in the practice. Once you have done this please take a seat in the main waiting room and wait until your name appears on the boards in the waiting room which will direct you either to one of the consulting rooms or one of the smaller waiting areas. Please do not leave the main waiting room until you are called and remember that you might not see your usual doctor.
The practice provides additional appointments that can be booked one week in advance.
These appointments are:
|MORNING 7.00am - 7.50am
||MONDAY - FRIDAY
All other clinics at the practice, whether it be with the GP, nurse or healthcare assistant are by appointment only and can be booked up to 8 weeks in advance directly online or by calling 01737 558 288.
The doctors at the surgery have a policy of only seeing their own patients unless in an emergency or if their usual GP is absent.
How To See The Nurses Or Healthcare Assistants
All nurse and healthcare assistant clinics are by appointment and can be arranged up to 8 weeks in advance by ringing 01737 558 288. Please phone the practice between 10.00am and 6.30pm to arrange your appointment. When you phone you will be asked why you want to see the nurse or healthcare assistant. This is to assist us in preparing for the clinic and to make sure we have sufficient stock or to prepare any equipment that may be required during your consultation.
Self Check-In Screen
When you arrive at the surgery, having already booked an appointment, please use the self check-in screen to let us know you are here. If you have rung for the open surgery and been allocated a slot, you may also use the screen upon arrival. Please note, however, that the time shown on the screen may be different to the time you were given. Time slots allocated in the morning are only approximate and that's because they are based on the premise that each patient will spend the standard 10 minutes with the doctor. The reality of course is that some consultations will go beyond that.
Once you have checked in please take a seat in the main waiting area and wait until you are called. (See the boards in the waiting room and follow the directions displayed).
If you have an appointment at the practice and wish to have a chaperone present during your consultation due to the nature of your visit please make reception aware of this when you arrive at the practice in order for this to be organised. If you are male and would prefer to be seen by a male GP or if you are female and would like to be seen by a female GP we will try our best to accommodate your request.
