What To Do When The Practice Is Closed

If you need to contact a GP outside surgery hours (8.00am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday) you can ring the following services:
Patientcare 24 (formerly Croydoc)
Please ring the out-of-hours service on 0845 603 8517 if you need a doctor. Do note all calls to Patientcare 24 are recorded. This is a co-operative staffed by Croydon GPs to provide a night and weekend rota.
Firstly the duty doctor will advise you over the telephone of self-help treatment OR you will be asked to go to Patientcare 24, which is based at Croydon University, OR if the doctor thinks you are too ill to travel, the
duty doctor will visit you at home, OR the doctor will ask you to call an emergency ambulance.

This nurse-led service is open 8.00am-8.00pm seven days a week and is for patients who have a minor illness or medical problem that is not life-threatening but they would like to see someone urgently. No appointment or referral necessary.
